Crossing into Rwanda, you continue to the Gorilla Trekking base on the outskirts of Volcanoes National Park. You will check in at the Singita Kwitonda Lodge. It's here, surrounded by wetlands and lush meadows on the edge of the park. Enjoy more gorilla trekking in the Volcanoes National Park with expert guides/ranges. If you opt not to trek, you may choose to spend your morning on a hike to Dian Fossey’s grave or enjoy a forest walk with endangered Golden Monkeys (additional expense). The gorillas are the stars of the show here. Hikes to reach them can be long, but watching these intelligent, powerful yet tender primates will give you more than one ripple of recognition – there's a definite sense of meeting the relatives. (Gorillas share 98 per cent of their DNA with humans.)
